The Los Angeles Times continues to run Jim Murray twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday. They've also published another collection of his columns. Jeff Zillgitt in USA Today recently mentioned "The Last of the Best." One of only three columnists from the toy department to win the Pulitzer for commentary, Murray wrote at least as incisively about golf as anything else, which is to say wonderfully. Zillgitt included one Murray line, concerning Lanny Wadkins' s penchant for fast play: "He acts like a guy who is double-parked and on the lam."

The Washington Golf Monthly is by several strokes the finest regional golf publication in the nation. The magazine's content extends well beyond the Beltway, with engaging articles such as "You Know You're a Chop When. . ." and Wayne DeFrancesco's clever instructional tacks.
